How to delete your PatPat account and what happens to your data

PatPat allows you to delete your account and associated data at any time directly from the mobile app. This page explains the steps to request account deletion, the types of data that are deleted, and any data that may be retained.
How to Delete Your Account
Step 1: Open the PatPat app
Log in to your PatPat account on your mobile device.
Step 2: Navigate to Delete Account
Go to Profile tab → scroll down → tap "Delete Account".
Step 3: Confirm your identity
Enter your password to verify your identity before proceeding.
Step 4: Confirm deletion
Review the summary of what will be deleted and confirm your decision.
Organization owners
If you are the owner of an organization, you must transfer ownership to another member before deleting your account. The app will guide you through this process. If you are the only member, deleting your account will also permanently delete the entire organization and all its data.
Data That Is Deleted
The following data is permanently deleted when you delete your account. This action cannot be undone.
Your name, email, avatar, job title, department, and bio are permanently deleted.
Your membership in any organization is deactivated and removed.
All pins you have collected are permanently removed.
Push notification tokens associated with your account are deleted.
All notifications sent to your account are permanently deleted.
Data That May Be Retained
Certain data may be retained in anonymized form to preserve the integrity of shared records. This data cannot be used to identify you.
Kudos you sent or received are deactivated, not deleted. This preserves recognition history for other users without identifying you.
Your name is preserved in historical leaderboard snapshots so past competition results remain accurate. If your profile is deleted, a display name fallback is used.
Processing Time
Account deletion is processed immediately. Once confirmed, your account is permanently deleted and you will be signed out. There is no grace period or way to recover a deleted account.
